Well, we are still short two songs! Two more songs will close out the project and send us on our way. There has been so much great material sent in to us, but of course we can only use 12 songs for the CD and perhaps an additional two for bonus purposes. It's been difficult to narrow down and select the right songs to blend well and create a record that will seamlessly sound as if it were written by the same person or band.
And since most song writers, who love Paddy's and Prefab's music seem to lean towards the slower side of things, at this point I would like to ask if any writers out there would like to contribute a song that leans more towards the faster and quirkier side of Paddy's style.
We feel that the final two songs should be a tad more "obscure" to really round out this project. This is a challenge to any and all song writers out there, even the ones who have already submitted multiple songs. Have a go at it! Next week we will announce the 10 songs chosen thus far. Once we have 12 songs nailed down, we will then submit two groups for drums. Each group will contain 6 songs. The reason for this is quite simply for obtaining much better rates, as that was the deal originally discussed. I do hope to see a few writers take a try at the faster, quirkier and obscure side of Prefab Sprout!
Thanks to all for the support.
